About the Team

The Talent Growth and Development team designs infrastructure that drives culture, supports our 'learn by doing' approach and activates the development and growth of Uber talent for maximum business impact. As experts in career growth, people development, talent & performance management, we design and enable the delivery of experiences that allow Uber to know, grow and move our talent to maximize business impact.

About the Role

In this role, you'll design and enable the implementation of innovative solutions that build manager capabilities and effectiveness at Uber. Alongside your team in Talent Growth and Development, you'll deliver manager effectiveness programming that connects seamlessly to Uber's talent ecosystem and builds on Uber's values, using data, feedback, best practices and other inputs to support manager capability and effectiveness at Uber.

You'll use your deep stakeholder management to understand sentiment and opportunity to inform content design and work with People Partners to deliver consistent and effective fundamentals across Uber. With all programming, you'll create key success metrics and a feedback loop to measure and report on the effectiveness and impact.

What You'll Do

  • Engage Uber's People team, HR Leadership, managers, the business, to diagnose learning and development needs across our manager populations and build a cohesive catalogue of manager programs and resources that support the cadence of the year and guide managers on how to drive impact and develop their teams at Uber
  • Lead multiple fast-paced projects at once and support a global portfolio of programs focused on building high performance and values-led managers
  • Build learning solutions, key tools, resources, and processes to support all levels of management
  • Cultivate community by designing and offering solutions that help our manager population expand their networks and grow their careers
  • Utilize Agile practices and human-centered design to promote rapid development of enablement solutions
  • Design, develop, and deliver content for virtual or self-paced learning solutions, virtual communities, performance support tools, self-assessments, videos, and curated microlearning
  • Evaluate systems of support and conduct an audit to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Work closely with the People Partner team to scale training and enablement related to performance and talent for all managers
  • Partner with external vendors and decide on budgets for development initiatives
  • Use all existing data, business feedback, and impact measures to continuously assess and improve programs for impact and efficiency
  • Understand interdependencies across functions and divisions, and incorporate the short and long-term trade-offs into business decisions
  • Offer time and invest in the development of others on the team
  • Conduct research on manager development trends and industry best practices

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of total professional experience
  • Instructional design and/or enablement experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years people management experience
  • Proven experience in a global L&D, HR, DEI, Talent, and/or Operations role
  • Has deep understanding of the manager experience and its challenges
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and growing into new areas of responsibility, with self-starter qualities
  • Consultative, able to work with HR Leads and Talent Management to determine effective approaches for different parts of the business
  • Strong strategic planning & project management skills including stakeholder management, change management and critical thinking
  • Well-organized and clear, capable of documenting a new program and communicating its purpose, design, and impact effectively
  • Possess strong business acumen, data analysis, and reporting skills
  • Flexible and adaptive, able to respond to changes and iterations
  • Familiar with talent management concepts and principles
  • Experience in designing and facilitating both live and virtual development programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$137,000 per year - USD$152,000 per year.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$152,000 per year - USD$169,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$152,000 per year - USD$169,000 per year.

For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$137,000 per year - USD$152,000 per year.
