Purpose

The Sr. Finance Business Partner, Rare Disease Business Unit will work closely with Chiesi Americas team and Global Rare Disease functional finance to provide monthly controlling, business planning and analysis, and, financial support for on going mergers and acquisitions and new product launches.

This role will be based in our Boston, MA office.

Main Responsibilities
  • Rare Disease Unit Business Partner - First point of contact for RDU Americas Finance issues
  • Direct financial support for Americas RDU Business Leaders
  • Market and sales projections and analysis
  • Cost planning and budget submission
  • Presentation of monthly reporting and analysis
  • Ad-hoc business operations and analysis
  • Ad hoc financial analysis for business decision making
    (All FP&A activities will be executed with support of Finance Business Partners and Financial Analysts team)
  • Liaise with Corporate Finance Operations to manage execution of Rare Disease Business Unit matters in alignment with corporate business processes and reporting standards
  • Liaise with FP&A to manage planning deadlines and submissions in alignment with provided templates and processes. Work closely with financial analysts and business partners throughout the Americas to support cost center owners.
  • M&A Integration
  • Direct project management of financial/operational integration of new Rare Disease Business Unit assets/companies with Americas presence.
  • Integrating asset/company into existing Chiesi business processes and systems
  • New Product Launch - combined effort with local finance operations (order to cash, system integration)
  • Team Management
  • Oversee Team of analysts and finance business partners in Americas region, ensuring processes are followed and work is submitted timely
  • Ensure team members remain motivated, challenged through learning opportunities and guided in their professional development with an effective coaching relationship
  • Internal control reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Work to integrate team into Chiesi methodology for financial planning & analysis and financial reporting
  • Ensure timely and efficient monthly and quarterly close through the accounting staff
  • Ensure all data feeds, inventory transactions, project management accounting and monthly internal/external reporting is appropriately captured and tracked in the Company's ERP
Experience Required
  • 8+ years of progressive Finance experience preferably in a multinational healthcare company
  • Experience with a revenue generating company and the consolidation of foreign operations.
  • Prior experience in SAP ERP system implementation a significant plus.
  • Candidate must have very strong analytical, and technical accounting capabilities and strong current references.
  • Strong leadership, collaborative and coaching skills with experience managing and mentoring teams.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, financial modeling, process building, and project management skills
  • Proven record of successful individual and team process improvement actions
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Able to drive the results while taking care of the process and procedures
  • Accuracy and precision in all matters of communicating and reporting data
  • Ability to lead, influence, build consensus and work optimally in cross functional teams
  • Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) effectively with senior management
  • Occasional travel may be required
Education
  • Finance and/or Accounting major from University
  • MBA degree or CPA certification preferred
