Who we re looking for

Toyota s Environmental & Facilities Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Sr. Engineer-Facilities Project.

The primary responsibility of this role is to Manage Plant Manufacturing Building Construction for approximately 2 years. This position will transfer to Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina Facilities Operations after support of initial building construction. In this role you will supporting monitoring for construction mgmt. waste, operations, and stormwater requirements as it related to said construction activity and permits.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager Facilities Projects, the person in this role will support the Environmental & Facilities Departments objective to lead design and construction for the new Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina Greenfield Site for approximately 2 years and will transition reporting to the Sr. Manager Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina Facility Operations.

What you ll be doing

Plant Manufacturing Building Construction (2yrs):
  • Environmental Project Leader for new Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina New Greenfield Site
  • Daily Environmental Audits for construction mgmt. and safety
  • Assurance of Air Construction Permitting requirement implementation including but not limited to equipment installation per approved permit(s).
  • Stormwater permitting adherence for construction mgmt.
  • Waste mgmt. adherence during construction period (hazardous and non-hazardous)
  • Experience in plant planning project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to meet environmental related KPIs.
  • Customer Satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with customer to support their needs.
Environmental Operations (after 2 yrs):
  • Development and deployment of inside and onsite supplier utility metering
  • Create a standardized process(s) and documentation for various control systems.
  • Project planning and project management coordination (ex. energy and water reduction)
  • Experience with Air, Water, Waste Permitting & Regulations along with updating said permits to allow for optimization of plant operations and changes for new project implementation.
  • Experience setting and maintaining compliance stds for facility operations based on Air, Water and Waste Permitting Requirements / Regulations
  • Previous experience serving as a key liaison btwn plant operations and regulatory officials (local and state for environmental related regulations).
  • Facility wide lead for ISO14001 development, implementation, and sustainment.
What you bring
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering or similar technical field with 5 years of relevant experience or 10+ years of equivalent work experience in the manufacturing domain.
  • Progressive experience in environmental regulation and permitting.
  • Construction experience related to air, water, waste permitting requirement(s) and implementation (auditing) of said requirements.
  • Systems experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Experience making KPI improvements.
  • Experience providing comprehensive analysis with specific data/details.
  • Experience managing project budgets.
  • Experience in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience serving in a liaison role between state and plant operation(s)
What you may bring
  • Certified Energy Manager
  • Master s degree in engineering
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • Experience with Industrial Building Construction Project Management
  • Operational experience at an Industrial Manufacturer (at least 4 years)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Power Point, Excel, Project, Word)
