Job Summary: Utilizes computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues. Provides clinical care efficiently and effectively using a high level of technical and organizational skills as well as critical thinking ability. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred Three years' CT technologist experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA Advanced certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA and OR Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA and OR Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required ARRT-Radiography (ARRT-R) or ARRT-Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT): Required Essential Functions: Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric. Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation. Uses PACS and teleradiology system to correctly transfer images to the appropriate location. Ensures department, equipment and staffing meet requirements set forth by any accreditation maintained by facility (JCAHO, ACR, State Licensures, etc.). Leads and is responsible for the process of accreditation with these governing bodies for the specific modality. Plans the daily patient workload to accommodate patients. Provides adequate staffing to accommodate patient workload, while covering vacations and sick days. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
