Responsibilities of Sr. Cost Accountant:
- Monitor and analyze job costs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Review and verify production orders, labor hours, material costs, and overhead expenses for assigned projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and production teams to ensure accurate recording of costs and timely completion of projects.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to job costs
- Participate in cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of job cost accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to job cost accounting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
Requirements for Sr. Cost Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years experience working as a Cost Accountant with a focus on job costing
- Proficiency in utilizing accounting software and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and experience with job cost modules is preferred.
