As a Sr. Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in accurately tracking, analyzing, and reporting on job costs to support effective decision-making within the manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including production teams, engineers, project managers, and finance professionals. Responsibilities of Sr. Cost Accountant:

  • Monitor and analyze job costs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Review and verify production orders, labor hours, material costs, and overhead expenses for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and production teams to ensure accurate recording of costs and timely completion of projects.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to job costs
  • Participate in cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of job cost accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to job cost accounting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.

Requirements for Sr. Cost Accountant:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years experience working as a Cost Accountant with a focus on job costing
  • Proficiency in utilizing accounting software and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and experience with job cost modules is preferred.
