Position Summary

Position pay range: $44,200- $55,300

The Sr. Carrier Relations Specialist has responsibility for supporting Logistics Operations and Business Development by developing and maintaining a strategic portfolio of vetted carriers on term or spot basis. Carrier Management supports KAG Logistics and is a center of expertise for managing relationships, pricing and quality of service for all transportation service providers. In addition, the Sr. Carrier Relations Specialist will have procurement and direct independent negotiating responsibilities with transportation service providers.

Essential Functions
  • Administers and analyzes carrier performance on a consistent (i.e. weekly, monthly) basis providing reports to our outside carriers. Take action to address carriers whose performances are marginal.
  • Oversees that all Vetted Carriers meet KAGLs HSE standards and that all carriers insurance remain active and at the determined insurance level
  • Analyzes carrier expenses to ensure that adequate margins are within plan while pursuing additional business strategic opportunities/partnerships and cost efficiencies.
  • Participates in the overall negotiating, operating and relationship management of contracts with all third-party carriers worth in excess of $100 million per annum.
  • Provides analytical support to the Sr. Director of Carrier Management.
  • Continues to enhance the overall carrier relationship in order to enhance delivery reliability

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Logistics or Business related field
  • 3 years experience in Transportation and Logistics
  • Must be results driven; ability to identify opportunities and deliver results in margin and service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good computer skills in Excel, Word
  • Analytical skills
  • Negotiation experience
