Job Purpose

Apply expertise in manufacturing and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) business processes and the ERP system to work with system users and enhance the organization's operational efficiency and performance.



Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with the end users to gather and document business requirements, conduct process analysis, and draft conceptual design documents.
  • Create functional specifications and software design documentation based on business requirements. Responsible for selecting and interfacing with vendors to design required modifications/changes to ERP.
  • Perform high-level data mapping, perform complex conversion testing, create end-user documentation as well as assist users in completing user acceptance.
  • Provide user assistance and direction for ad hoc data reporting and (optionally) develop reports using a BI reporting environment.
  • Assess the impact of ERP software updates/patches and provide proposals for applying them effectively. Following the delivery of updates/patches, responsible for coordination of acceptance testing, installation and deployment (by system administrator(s into the environments.
  • Work with users and IT members to troubleshoot reported problems pertaining to application software. Identify the cause and design or develop an approach for resolution. Implement the correction/customized software.
  • Train new and existing staff in the effective use of ERP modules and maintenance required.
  • Develop and provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
  • Collaborate with IT management to ensure top-level business objectives are accomplished and priorities are set accordingly.
  • Write and maintain procedures and perform other duties as requested.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in business processes and make proposals for improvement within the ERP system.



Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education/certifications and work experience

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years related work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of ERP experience or two years of IFS ERP experience
  • Previous experience supporting a manufacturing/MRO environment (or similar environment)
  • Experience as a business analyst
  • IT project management and/or requirements management experience



Other Job Specific Skills

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Significant manufacturing/MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) knowledge in ERP systems (IFS ERP experience highly preferred)
  • Subject Matter expert in ERP supply chain, manufacturing, planning, scheduling, inventory management, engineering/PDM, and warehousing.
  • Knowledge of HR, Admin, Preventative Maintenance and Purchasing systems helpful
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel required.
  • Troubleshooting and report writing skills using SQL/PLSQL is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Sound planning and organizational skills
  • Experience writing high-level functional and/or technical specifications

Working Conditions

  • Climate-controlled office environment.
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection and safety shoes.
  • Overtime not normally required but may be needed depending on project demands.
