We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Accountant, GL for our rapidly growing technology firm. This permanent position is an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and who is consistently seeking ways to improve and streamline processes. The Sr. Accountant, GL will play a critical role in our finance team, managing all aspects of general ledger accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Sales and Use Tax (SUT), use tax, and will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage all general ledger accounting operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
2. Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting principles and company policies.
3. Administer Sales and Use Tax (SUT) and use tax, including preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
4. Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insightful analysis to support decision-making.
5. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
6. Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
7. Identify opportunities for process improvements to accelerate close and reporting cycles, and drive cost efficiencies.
8. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the technology industry.
4. Proficient in Sales and Use Tax (SUT) and use tax.
5. Solid understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
6. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
7. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization and detail.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
10. Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
