Office Hours 7-4 or 8-5 (8 hr with 1hr lunch) - needs to be in before 8am

POSITION SUMMARY & PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The senior accountant is responsible for the day to day accounting functions, including general accounting, ledger maintenance, Treasury, and sales tax. Works closely with the finance shared services team and US staff to oversee the calculation, posting, and verification of financial and statistical records. Maintains the integrity of accounting records by ensuring compliance with organization accounting policies and procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the preparation of financial statements and monthly and quarterly reporting within established deadlines

Assist in leading month-end close activities for multiple locations

Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations

Assist with the completion of the income, franchise, and property tax filings

Perform profit & loss and balance sheet variance explanations

Review and approve sales tax filings in Avalara and ensure sales tax returns and payments are made timely.

File sales tax amendments for refunds on a quarterly basis or as needed

Sales tax research and interpretation of tax laws

Monitor and report domestic & international daily cash

Manage and report company's credit facility including loan usage, debt interest and principal payments.

Prepare monthly bank and lender requirement reporting including borrowing base certificates and monitor compliance of credit agreements

Prepare and update weekly and monthly cash forecasts

Ensure Treasury, AR, Credit & Collections are performing in-line with policy & procedures.

Assist with internal and external audit requests and schedules

Participate and direct special projects related to accounting as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Finance related Bachelor's degree. CPA or MBA a plus

Experience

6 to 7+ years of related accounting experience (financial statements, month-end close, AP/AR, analysis, income, and sales taxes)

1+ years of treasury or similar experience (cash management and debt).

1+ year in successful supervisory role (a good mentor with a constructive approach)

Other Requirements

Major ERP systems experience.

Advanced or expert level Excel skills.

General Ledger - this is a "hands on" position

Experience in a Manufacturing environment helpful to success in the role but not required

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high transaction and autonomous environment

Ability to multitask and retain new concepts quickly.

Strong organization, attention to detail and analytical skills.

Proven ability to identify areas where process improvements will add value.

Proven track record of researching and solving problems with minimal supervision.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Strong communication and people management skills.

Be a team player with a strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude with a strong willingness to go the extra mile if needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

Previous experience with Infor Syteline ERP and major ERP system a plus

MBA or CPA a plus
