SPY Technician with Security Clearance

Title: SPY Technician
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: Wallops Island, VA We are currently seeking candidates for a SPY Technician, located in our Wallops Island, VA station. Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island requires support for management, engineering, operation, and technical expertise for activation, operations, maintenance and engineering of equipment, systems, and computer programs in support of all Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) missions and projects performed at SCSC. SCSC provides live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric, maritime environment to develop, test, evaluate, and conduct fleet operations and training for the warfighter. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with the Navy Maintenance Material Management (3M) system utilizing SKED with the goal of maintaining AN/SPY-1(V) to shipboard standards.
• Operate and adjust mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Operate test equipment and record data.
• Configure, initialize, and maintain the AN/SPY-1(V) Radar systems and associated Signal Processors at Surface Combat Systems Center Wallops Island.
• Other duties as assigned.
Travel
• This position includes a low level of travel. Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required
• High School diploma or GED.
• Seven years' experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing tactical equipment related to SPY-1A or B/D or D(V) or other SPY Radar Systems. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Certified, or have the ability to become certified, as a Maintenance Person in accordance with NAVEDTRA 43241-K Naval Education and Training Command Personnel Qualification Standard for 3-M (within a three-month period).

Qualifications
• Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly desired, however candidates who are eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered. If the selected candidate does not hold an active clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer. A start date will be established once an interim Secret clearance is granted.
• Must be an U.S. citizen.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations on base.
• Must have the availability to work varying shifts and weekends as required.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to frequently traverse stairs.
• Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
• Reaching, handling, using equipment, keyboards, and mobile devices.
• Lifting boxes (files and supplies) up to 50 lbs.
