We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to play a crucial role in supporting, ensuring patients receive safe and appropriate pharmacy services. They adhere to the organization's policies, state regulations, and professional standards while assisting pharmacists in various tasks. Under direct pharmacist supervision, they handle data entry, prescription preparation, claims processing, labeling, packaging, and medication delivery.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Processing new and refill prescription orders and equipment requests while upholding productivity and quality standards.

Accurately filling patient orders by selecting medications, verifying quantities, and preparing prescription labels.

Collaborating with pharmacists for order completion, verification, or clarification.

Inputting data into the pharmacy computer system to generate necessary paperwork.

Choosing suitable supplies and ancillaries based on medication requirements and patient preferences.

Communicating with patients, caregivers, and prescribers to obtain refill authorization and resolve order issues.

Handling pharmacy claims, resolving rejections, and coordinating with insurance plans when necessary.

Assisting with product purchasing, inventory management, and equipment upkeep.

Ensuring order accuracy and preparing shipments with appropriate materials and labels.

Maintaining a clean dispensing area and replenishing supplies as needed.

Delivering excellent customer service to patients and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Three to five years of pharmacy experience.

Proficiency in drug terminology and specialized pharmacy services.

Ability to perform intermediate pharmaceutical calculations for accurate medication dosages.

Familiarity with the organization's structure and the range of services it provides.

Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.

Adherence to legal and ethical guidelines, including HIPAA compliance.

Active participation in assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents and equipment errors.

Accurate completion of quality assurance forms under the supervision of the pharmacist.

Compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements in all activities.

Willingness to participate in on-call duties for the pharmacy department if necessary .
