Job Description :
Performs a wide range of CAD design assignments in support of the mechanical engineering organization including the creation of models and/or drawings. As Project Designer for small to medium programs, reporting to Chief Mechanical engineer and program staff. Maintains Drawing Release Curve (DRC) and program documentation plan. Assures design documentation complies with the program requirements, organization's processes and industry standards. Prepares accurate drawings and schematics with proper tolerances, dimensions and instructions, with oversight from senior Project Designer or Engineering IPTL. Essential functions include:
- Provide CAD support (PTC Creo) throughout the product development process
- Generate and/or modify product's models, drawings and documentation
- Support the control of mechanical digital data files and drawings
- Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders
- Input data and assure hardware structures are accurate in a Product Data Management tool
- Support resolution of problems/issues in CAD design/drawings and provide corrective actions.
- Compliance with command media & standard
- Experience with L3Harris products and legacy Space and Airborne Systems
Essential Functions:
- High level utilization of solid modeling/drawing application such as PTC Creo Parametric.
- Expert in structural antenna design, fabrication and manufacturing process, specifically for Space antennas.
- Proficient with applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices).
Qualifications :
Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Familiar with legacy L3Harris antenna designs, specifically Experimental.
