Position Summary The Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist will support the Manager, Risk & QSE Systems, North America in the operation and evolution of the organizations health & safety, and risk management systems. The Specialist will be responsible to manage and enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable global and local regulations. The position will develop and implement health and safety initiatives and protocols in accordance with Pernod Ricard's values. Will have the ability to build the trust and confidence to inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. Key Responsibilities The Pernod Ricard Jefferson's distillery is currently a new construction build project. The Safety Manager is expected to support start up and commissioning activities during those phases of the project. This role will also support operations once commissioning and start up phases are completed. Operations activities include: grain handling, cooking, fermentation and distillation processes. This role will be responsible for the EHS agenda across all site operations and construction phases. Manage construction safety for Pernod Ricard contractors. Perform task specific risk assessments and issue daily work permits. Perform audits against permits, Pernod Standards and OSHA, EPA regulations. Provides key support toward Pernod-Ricard 2025 H&S roadmap ambition to be the "best in class" in the Wine and Spirits industry. Supports the development and implementation of the Pernod-Ricard group H&S strategic priorities, including Safety Culture, Safety Leadership, and Safety Performance. Assists in the development and implementation of site-specific H&S reduction goals and targets. Implement and deliver initial and refresher EHS training programs to operations team members all new hires and brand home staff as applicable. Conduct site risk assessments to ensure risks are identified. Work with the site leadership team to develop risk mitigation and or elimination strategies to ensure a safe working environment. Manage and implement environmental, health & safety programs to meet both regulatory requirements and Pernod Ricard requirements. Help drive EHS continuous improvement efforts across the site. Develop corrective action plans utilizing key stakeholders and tracking items to closure. Drive Safety Culture initiatives. Support Pernod's LIFE Program Agenda. Responsible for application and maintenance of all relevant site environmental permits. Including but not limited to air permit, wastewater permit, hazardous waste etc. Responsible for submitting TIER II reports and maintaining air emissions spreadsheets as well as corporate environmental KPI tracking. Support overall North American Sustainability agenda by supporting site projects. Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations. Maintain required recordkeeping documents as required per each individual permit, ensure timely reporting for all site permits. Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation. Track internal KPI's and report on a monthly basis to drive improvement against Pernod Ricard sustainability objectives. Consults, supports, and participates in activities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Coordinates and follows-up on monthly safety inspections. Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment. Provides assistance and advice on EHS issues and makes recommendations to area managers. Ability to work with employees and achieve safety cultural progression, maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees. Required Skills & Abilities Familiarity with reference standards (NFPA, OSHA, DISCUS, ANSI) Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and facilitate learning Public speaking skills- strong presentation and training ability Proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft products Education Required: University Degree or College Diploma in Safety or Related Field Experience Required: Minimum 10 years experience in safety Preferred: 5 years minimum in manufacturing or construction Careers that unlock the magic of human connection Who we are Pernod Ricard is a global premium spirits and wine company. The salary range for this role, based in Kentucky is $75,100.00 to $103,300.00, range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate's experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
