We are offering a $1,500 sign on bonus for all HSWC Specialist positions. We have an amazing opportunity for a Specialist at our Prince George's County, MD location. You will be responsible for assisting 7th through 12th graders enrolled in the Hillside Work Scholarship Connection (HW-SC) to make a smooth transition from high school to college, vocational training or military career, post high school graduation. This role may also include providing mentorship and other support services, as needed, for young adults up to two years after high school. Responsibilities: + Maintain partner relationships with employers and community associations to engage in opportunities for HW-SC students such as job shadowing, internships, career speakers and pre-apprentice trade opportunities; with high school guidance counselors and higher education institutions to maintain knowledge and service expertise for students. + Support general oversight and actual implementation of career, post-secondary, academic and/or employment programming and facilitation. Responsible for fidelity of employment, career, post-secondary, academic, and enrichment programming. Identify, coordinate and participate in local post-secondary and employment activities and tours. Assist YAs and their students with the college application and financial aid process. + Provide services to HW-SC students in collaboration with and as identified by YAs and Team Supervisors. Monitor placement and progress of participating students in partnership with YAs and Team Supervisors. Provide support services for HW-SC students who are preparing for the transition from high school to military, trade school, employment, college. + Responsible for delivering Youth Employment Training (requires certification to be obtained within specified timeframe). + Accurately complete all program paperwork in a timely manner. Input into and create reports from ETO as needed for individual and stakeholder summary progress reports. Enter data, pull reports and identify risk or concern relating to individual student or student trends relating to employment, college, career, post-secondary activities and student transition from middle school to high school to graduation, college, or career. Maintain accurate records of own work time and travel information. Qualifications: Required: + High School Diploma or GED + Valid, unrestricted NYS driver's license (for at least one year) and meet agency insurance standards + A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in human services, childhood or youth development, student mentoring, workforce development, coaching adolescent youth, or related field. $15.74 Minimum Rate per hour, $23.60 Maximum Rate per hour, based on experience.
