We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of HSE Ops Specialist in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), HSE Business Unit based in Carlsbad, NM HSE Specialists are critical members of Oxy's integrated team since the foundation of Oxy's business. The primary objective for this position is to be the focal point for integrating HSE practices and policies into daily operations across-functional teams, which includes operations, and support functions. Essential Functions: Responsible for communicating and applying federal, state, local and company HSE policies in addition to requirements within operations Develop and implement new and existing programs designed to promote improved HSE performance, annual maintenance of risk management plans, emergency response planning, audits, field observations and assessments Record keeping, internal and external reporting, development of written reports Conduct Investigations and root cause analysis Provide HSE training and support to operations/construction field personnel Inspect all HSE equipment Education High School diploma or GED Experience: 5 years of relevant OOG HSE industry or field operations experience Demonstrate commitment to safety Confined space entry, hot work, lockout/tagout and other work permits Demonstrate ability to work within multi-discipline team environment Ability to prepare and deliver both written and oral presentations Advanced in use of Microsoft Office Suite software Demonstrate problem solving and time management skills Valid driver's license and excellent driving record Additional Desired Qualifications: HSE-related degree or HSE certifications strongly preferred Bilingual preferred TapRooT investigation methodology preferred Occidental is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
