Job Summary Job Summary Under the supervision of the Program Specialist and/or the School Psychologist, the Behavior Technician will assist, tutor, and reinforce instruction to students who present with behavioral and/or mental health needs. The Behavior Technician will assist with the direct implementation of skill acquisition and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) developed by the School Psychologist and the IEP team. Additionally, the Behavior Technician will assist with the implementation of Special Education Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) and Special Education programming. • High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND forty-eight (48) college units, an AA degree, or ability to demonstrate college-level skills by passing the Paraprofessional proficiency test
• Two years experience working with students with special needs and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
• Possession of a valid California driver's license and the ability to qualify for District vehicle insurance coverage.
• A valid First Aid and CPR certification issued by an authorized agency.
• The offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of pre-placement medical examination, including drug testing and fingerprint clearance.
