Assistant Teacher Extended School Year The following job duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the NHPS Extended School Year Services as an Assistant Teacher/Paraprofessional position, in addition to any duties as may be assigned by the building lead or program director for the duration of the program: Assist teachers to implement the special education services, leading small groups or individual instruction and discussions, and reviewing classwork Organize the classroom and teaching materials, monitoring the classroom during lessons, and minimizing distractions and disruptions. Supervise students in and out of the classroom. Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and social- emotional needs. Help teachers and students with transitions, such as lunch in the cafeteria and any summer programming requiring students to leave the classroom. Assist the teacher with tracking student attendance, student information forms, arrival and dismissal procedures. Ensure the upkeep of educational materials, equipment, and supplies. Assist the teacher in documenting student progress. Experience with technology to assist teachers and students. Collaborative communication and interpersonal skills Some diapering may be required Requirements: Associate Degree or 60 college credits or receive a qualifying score on the ParaPro Assessment, or existing NHPS Assistant Teacher Compensation: $15.69.00 per hour Preference will be given to those assistant teachers who have experience working within Extended School Year Programs Please direct all questions to Typhanie Jackson:
