This position is responsible for kitchen staff management, food preparation, menu development, food safety, quality, and presentation at The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar & Patio.

Job Functions (Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):

Maintain high standards of food quality and preparation, while anticipating guest needs.

Assist with developing menu items, creating recipes, sourcing ingredients, and maintaining updated costing.

Interview, supervise, motivate, guide, train, counsel, and discipline (when needed) culinary team members on a daily basis.

Maintain proper inventory levels and control food and labor costs. Order ingredients and supplies.

Resolve guest and employee concerns.

Inspect, evaluate, and correct food safety, sanitation, and work safety standards. Use a hands-on approach, along with coaching, to ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met.

Monitor compliance with company, property, and department policies and procedures.

Maintain equipment in good working order, submitting regular service repairs and requests as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Industry Experience - Food and Beverage

Experience in high - volume a la carte or banquet environments

18 years of age or older.

Completion of high school or GED

Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management (or related) preferred.

Post-Employment - Must obtain RAMP Certification, ServSafe Manager and ServSafe Allergen Certificates.

Additional Qualifications:

Strong communication skills.

Understanding of food and labor costs.

Knowledge of ordering procedures and staff scheduling procedures.

Skilled in the use of the Google Workspace, including Sheets and Docs.
