Overview Ultrasounds and biopsies can be scary procedures for some patients. Your skill and compassion as a sonographer will help to put patients at ease. Your sounds judgment will be used to determine imaging technique and patient treatment. Through your expertise, you will help to fulfill Legacy's mission of making life better for others. Responsibilities Performs ultrasound imaging and biopsy procedures according to physician's orders, utilizing knowledge and judgment regarding imaging technique and patient treatment. Qualifications Education: Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited (by AMA or ARDMS) school of ultrasound. Graduation from school required within six months of hire date. Skills: Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions. LEGACY'S VALUES IN ACTION: Follows guidelines set forth in Legacy's Values in Action. If proof of registration in Abdomen or OB/GYN (ARDMS AB or ARDMS OB) is not received within one year of assuming the non-certified Sonographer job, the position will be vacated by the incumbent. Current state license in Sonography required for all employees who perform this job in the state of Oregon. Temporary licensure is acceptable. BLS Certification: American Heart Association, Health Care provider level BLS and AED Certification required.
