Software Engineer

R- Description Come put your software engineering skills into action. Leidos has an immediate opportunity for software engineer to come work at our new facilities in Lorton, VA. In this role, you will join a dynamic team focusing on modernization of solutions and maximizing value to deliver innovative and efficient solutions to our customers. As a key part of the team, your responsibilities will include all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, and coding within an Agile and Continuous Delivery model. Primary Responsibilities Designs, develops, evaluates, and modifies systems and systems-oriented software products, including general purpose desktop and server applications and services. Develops and maintains system images. Gathers information concerning the capabilities of customer products; investigates the technical capabilities of customer products and competing equipment and/or solutions; stays abreast of developments in hardware and software; analyzes customer problems; assists in designing systems to satisfy customer needs. Researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of customer products and competitors. Coordinates resolution of product/service issues, upgrades, and problems. Prepares equipment analysis to instruct support staff and customers in equipment capabilities. Coordinates the planning, design, and installation of equipment and software, using knowledge of engineering and programming as well as sophisticated instruments and computers. Basic Qualifications It is required that the SW Engineer T2 has the following qualifications:
Experienced with Object-Oriented Programming (C , .NET, MVC, Java, etc.)
Experienced in Software Development on Windows and Linux/Unix
Experienced in Web Service Development (SOAP, WSDLs, XML schemas, etc.)
Experienced in Front-End Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, XHTML, JSF, etc.)
Experienced in Back-End Web Development (Java SE, Java EE, JSF, SQL, etc.)
Experienced in Infrastructure as a Code (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform); and Scripting Development (Python, Perl, etc.)
Education and Experience Level: BS degree in Computer Science or related field with 2-4 years of experience (may include internships, etc.). Preferred Qualifications It is desired that the Systems SW Engineer T2 has the following qualifications:
An active TS/SCI security clearance.
