Job Description Overview: Quantum Research International, Inc. Mission: Quantum's Experiment Support Team (QUEST) provides the Department of Defense with consistent, automated, and scalable data collection and management services for our Nation's Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence (AAI) research and development projects. QUEST provides rich curated data at the speed of mission as its contribution to inventing new ways of teaming Humans and Machines for improved outcomes. QUEST needs your assistance as a Software Engineer to achieve these goals. Responsibilities: Work with all members of QUEST to implement robust data collection systems to support both test and experimentation events and exercises. Plan, direct, and manage software sustainment, software development and update activities for all QUEST software requirements in support of data collection during testing and experimentation events. Ensure requirement, design, implementation, integration, and testing are aligned with program objectives and QUEST software engineering processes. Establish, shape, and ensure compliance and continuous improvement IAW software sustainment policies and procedures. Interact with a wide array of software stakeholders. Coordinate the preparation of software technical documents, evaluate proposals, monitor, and guide QUEST software development and sustainment progress; manage software technical solutions. Manage software technical solutions to support software updates of Support Equipment (SE) and tools. Exchange information and viewpoints with other functional teams when necessary. Excellent C/C or C programming skills with experience in embedded system design and development Experience with other languages such as Python or Java is desirable. Experience working with Software IDE (e.g., Visual Studio) Experience working with version control software (e.g. Git) Knowledge of database concepts and programming interfaces. Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, FTP of DoD Cyber Security requirements for DoD networks and computer systems. Knowledge of cloud architecture and computing services. Familiarity with serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C. Familiarity with security-related aspects and best practices associated with software development for DoD computer systems and networks. Experience with JIRA or other issue tracking software. Experience w/ Linux/Unix shell scripting (SH, BASH, etc.), Experience with agency certifications such FCC and cellular networks and carriers Excellent documentation practices and communication skills. Commitment to maintaining project schedules and delivering tasks on time. Security Plus certification will be required. Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. Must be a US Citizen. Security Clearance: Must have Secret with the ability to qualify and obtain a Top Secret/SCI. Physical Requirements: Must be able to travel internationally and work in austere environments. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. equipment containers un-assisted. Must be able to move through water, sand, and vegetation un-assisted.
