Software Developer, Midlevel Location: Aurora, CO ( this role is eligible for relocation assistance ) Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Active Top Secret/SCI Program Overview: The NASK Small Satellite (SmallSAT) Program includes operations of on-orbit one-of-a-kind research and development satellites, software engineering support, mission planning, and anomaly resolution. Software Development Role: NASK is seeking a motivated candidate to fulfill the role of a SmallSAT Mid-Level Software Developer in our Dayton, OH facility. This role is best suited for an individual who is organized, self-motivated, and independent. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with research and development spacecraft and want to be part of a company providing products and services to the Intelligence Community and DoD. This position requires full-time in-office work. The SmallSAT software developer will be responsible for solving challenging problems that will revolutionize IC and DoD satellite capabilities, and have a direct impact on critical IC technology developments. NASK's scope includes mission planning, on-orbit operations, and anomaly resolution. This SmallSAT Software Developer position requires a depth and breadth of knowledge in design and development, proficiency in a high-level language, and experience building highly scalable systems for intelligence partners. You will own the design of a critical deliverable and have opportunities to build concepts from scratch. This is a fast-paced environment where you will make a direct impact on the customer experience and the bottom line of the company. You will have responsibility for program activities related to software development, simulation, testing, software quality, configuration management, and delivery of related technical requirements as well as IC customer feedback and program wide coordination. Required Qualifications: Experience with Java, Linux OS, and Git Work well in both a team environment and executing individual tasks Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features Work closely with other staff to identify system requirements and project deliverables B.S. or higher in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, plus 4+ years of related work experience (4 years direct work experience may be substituted for degree) Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 4 years software development experience Solid experience with JSON and REST web services Knowledge of bash scripting, maven build system, Mongo DB, Jira, and Confluence General knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, orbital dynamics, and ground systems Working knowledge of Telemetry, Tracking, and Commanding (TT&C), and Ground Control (GC) applications Experience maintaining situational awareness for satellite system activities in an operational environment Customer presentation experience Capability to identify system issues and provide technical advice Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI w/poly Who we are: Our people are the core of who we are and what we do.
