Position Summary: This position is responsible to develop new industrial robotics technologies in an innovative and entrepreneurial environment. This position will interpret complex and ill-defined requirements and develop them into elegant and creative software solutions. This position will work effectively with and challenge other experienced developers at all stages of the software development life-cycle including requirements analysis, high-level design, low-level algorithms, testing, deployment, and maintenance.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Work hands-on with industrial robotic systems
  • Develop and maintain industrial robotic domain knowledge necessary to be an effective software developer
  • Continuous improvement to our internal processes, procedure, and automations
  • Write high quality code for other human beings in an agile environment
  • Document and maintain various codebases
  • Keep job knowledge current through training and studying on various software development topics
  • Collaborate effectively in a small team of software developers, domain experts, and roboticists


Core Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or other related fields
  • The innate desire to derive satisfaction from a job well done and to seek out challenging (and rewarding) tasks
  • Basic understanding of object-oriented design principles

Desirable Qualifications

  • Competency in user interface design
  • Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS)
  • Experience with nVidia CUDA and C
  • Basic understanding of robot kinematics and trajectory planning
  • Experience with ABB and Fanuc robot platforms and their programming languages (RAPID, TP, KAREL, etc.)
  • Industrial robotics domain knowledge (welding, cutting, other fabrication processes)

  • Physical demands: Work is usually a mix of sedentary and walking. Use of the telephone is extensive. In the office there is minimal reaching, bending and lifting in relationship to documents and stored records. When at a customer facility, there will be lifting, reaching, bending, dragging, pulling and carrying of parts and equipment. This individual may have to walk long distances to reach the equipment within the customer's facility.
  • Work environment: This individual may have to sit for long periods of time. The noise level is usually moderate. Traveling may be unplanned and immediate; hours may be irregular.
