GridironIT is seeking a Software Consultant in Chicago, Illinois.
Required Skills and Experience
Building distributed, service oriented, cloud based systems
Have implemented cloud native applications or can demonstrate a thorough understanding of cloud native architecture
Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) and agile methodologies, including refactoring
Ability to incrementally define and improve system architecture as a product evolves
Expertise building CI/CD pipelines
Strong written and oral communication skills
Comfortable in new situations with new clients
Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and challenging problems
Experience with Domain Driven Design
Experience modernizing legacy applications/systems in languages such as Java or .NET
Experience facilitating large groups of people
They will be working as part of a team of consultants to align on strategy together.
Experience with React, Typescript, Java Spring, Storybook and testing tools (Jest and Playwright)
Experience with TDD and automated testing strategies.
Expectation is pair programming is the default mode of working. While you re pairing, you ll be doing TDD.
Core hours 9-5 Central but 8 hours of billable work/day expected.
Chicago-based preferred. If so, up to 3 days a week of in-office time expected.
If not Chicago-based, ability to travel to Chicago at a TBD cadence.
Familiarity with XP principles
Someone who s interested in working in a highly collaborative environment not only with engineers, but with PMs and designers too.
Desired Skills and Experience
Polyglot programming experience
Expertise in Java/Spring and/or .NET
Experience with Kubernetes, Chef, Ansible, BOSH, or related automation / orchestration tools
Some experience working with NTP, SAML, OAuth 2, Active Directory
Experience with full-stack development
Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or OpenStack
