.SUMMARYThe Social Media Specialist implements and manages social media strategic initiatives that promote brand recognition through authentic online engagement. The incumbent also oversees social media strategy, policy, compliance, and training.CORE JOB

FUNCTIONSUtilizes understanding of institutional objectives, brand guidelines, and strategy to develop business awareness and generate online and social media traffic. Develops unique social media content calendars and posts specific to varying platforms. Develops email marketing content geared to driving high open and click rates. Contributes to the creation of content for websites, flyers, and press releases. Monitors, measures, and reports on social media activities and performance. Remains informed of evolving industry trends for new content ideas and platform uses. Ensures consistency of voice and campaign integration for all marketing assets. Identifies influencers and supporters, spots trends, moderates comments, and establishes community culture and tone. QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant fieldDEPARTMENT ADDENDUMDepartment Specific FunctionsThe Social Media Specialist is responsible for helping to maintain the "voice" of University of Miami Health System, the Miller School of Medicine, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and any official business units across all relevant social media platforms. Provides assistance and secondary oversight for paid and organic social media efforts for multiple brands.This position works closely with our Social Media Manager and internal team members including medical communications, patient experience, compliance, content creation, and vendors to maximize engagement and assist in deploying effective, consistent content across all platforms.Ability to work during occasional evening and weekend hours to cover campus events, monitoring, as assigned by the Social Media Manager.Department Specific QualificationsExperience:3-5 years of experienceKnowledge, Skills and Attitudes:Ability to multi-task and stay organized under different situations with a professional composure.Proven ability to review and create social media posts in adherence to company policy and standard.Advanced knowledge of social media management, tracking, monitoring, and reporting tools.Proficiency in livestreaming using platforms including but not limited to: META Business, TikTok, and YouTubeWorking knowledge of photo/video editing tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and Canva.Ability to explain tactics and social media best practices to a lay audience; and to teach practical execution of engagement to senior leadership.Ability to work during event and live coverages with multiple teams and deliverables.Understanding of FERPA, HIPPA, accessibility and other governing laws that impact social media content strategy.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
