About the Role / Summary: The Social Media Associate plays a critical role in increasing our online presence, driving engagement, and expanding our brand's reach across various platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and more. This role is responsible for posting across our social channels, engaging with our community of food, home, and drink enthusiasts, and analyzing social media performance metrics. The position also produces engaging content from start to finish, from lighting and capturing the perfect shot to crafting a compelling narrative in edit - and is not at all shy about being in front of the camera. You'll spend the majority of your time focused on Food52 but may assist with other brands on an as needed basis. Key Responsibilities Platform Expertise: Develop and maintain deep understanding of social media platforms including TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. Stay updated with the latest trends, algorithms, and features specific to each platform. Content Creation: Craft engaging and platform-specific content for Food52 and its sub-brands, including Schoolhouse and Dansk. This includes writing compelling copy that resonates with our diverse audience, while adhering to the brand's voice and style guidelines. This also includes producing engaging content from start to finish, from lighting and capturing the perfect shot to crafting a compelling narrative in edit - and is not at all shy about being in front of the camera. Content Scheduling and Posting: Manage the scheduling and posting of content across various social media platforms. Ensure that the content calendar is up-to-date and posts are published at optimal times for maximum engagement. Cross-Platform Management: Coordinate content strategies across different platforms, understanding the nuances of each to maximize reach and engagement. Tailor content to fit the unique audience and format of each social media channel. Analytics and Reporting: Regularly analyze and report on the performance of social media activities. Utilize analytics tools to track engagement metrics, audience growth, and campaign effectiveness across all platforms and franchises. Community Engagement: Actively engage with the community by responding to comments, messages, and mentions. Foster a positive community environment and enhance audience interaction with the brand. Campaign Support: Support marketing campaigns by creating and executing social media strategies that align with broader marketing objectives. Collaborate with other departments for integrated campaigns. Product Integration: Considers new products and key stories when planning content and strategizes on the best way to drive sales. Whitelisting/Boosting Content: Manage the whitelisting and boosting of posts when applicable. Understand the budgeting and targeting strategies to optimize paid social media efforts. Brand Partnership Execution: Work with the brand partnership account managers to execute sold brand partnerships across all social platforms. Brand Representation: Represent Food52's brand identity and values consistently across all social media channels. Be a brand ambassador, ensuring all content is on-brand and aligned with Food52's image and objectives. Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the marketing, editorial, and creative teams to develop and implement effective social media strategies. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas. Event Content Coverage: When necessary, attend community events and brand partnership events to capture social content for all social platforms including photo and video. Qualifications & Requirements 2-4 years of social media experience in digital media, e-commerce, or at an agency, with clearly demonstrable examples of success on platforms like TikTok and Pinterest Keen awareness of the intricacies of social media platforms and what makes them tick Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines Ability to film content using an iPhone and / or other cameras. Ability to edit video content using Capcut, Premier, and / or other video editing tools. Knowledge of social media platforms like Dash Hudson and Buffer. Experience with Adobe Suite, Figma, Canva, etc. An engaging personality and ability to connect with an audience on-camera and through voice over. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, with a keen eye for design aesthetics and details, as well as in-platform social media editing tools. Ability to think like a creator, with a proven track record of identifying trends / virality and capitalizing on it, as well as analyzing metrics to increase performance in real time. Excitement to work in a scrappy environment, managing shifting priorities and tasks in a timely fashion, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a positive manner. Previous experience working with brand partnerships and creating paid content is preferred. Must be able to provide samples of past work or link to current portfolio. A degree in media production and/or culinary training is a plus, but not mandatory. COMPENSATION This is an exempt role. The target pay range for this role is between $60,000 to $70,000. This role is eligible for a bonus. Factors used to determine the salary range for a given position may impact what salary within the stated range may be offered to any particular candidate (e.g., years of experience, level of education obtained, etc.).
