Small Arms Repairer with Security Clearance

Duties Repair small weapons by replacing obsolete parts and/or assemblies. Analyze unit deficiencies to determine required organizational training. Use hand tools to make repairs and adjustments. List repairs on appropriate forms to indicate needed repairs. Performs two level Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) to include periodic gauging. Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Effort Required: Frequently lifts sub assemblies or small weapons weighing 15 to 20 pounds. Often carries large assemblies or weapons weighing up to 50 pounds. Work requires walking, bending, and long periods of standing. Working Conditions: Works in shop buildings that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. Stands on concrete floors or other hard surfaces for long periods. Exposed to oil, grease, and solvents when cleaning and lubricating weapons. Exposed to the possibility of minor cuts and bruises from tools and sharp edges of metal.
