Primary Purpose: Assist plumbers with repairs and all work orders assigned to the plumbing department. Maintain a clean and safe environment. Salary: $11.84-$17.04 Qualifications: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas driver's license Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to use hand and power tools Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Physically fit with good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination and sense of balance Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds Good human relations skills and ability to work with others Experience: Prior experience as apprentice helper is desirable Major Responsibilities and Duties: Facility Construction, Maintenance & Repair 1. Assist plumbers in completing work orders. 2. Maintain a clean and safe work area. 3. Organize materials as instructed. 4. Abide by all safety rules. Safety 5. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. 6. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. 7. Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition. 8. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc. 9. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Equipment Used: Hand and power tools, sewer rooter, torch, ladder and light truck or van. Work Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Working Conditions Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, carrying and heavy lifting. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent district wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; work indoors and outdoors to conduct on-site inspection of all facilities and construction projects; work around machinery with moving parts; work on ladders or scaffolding.
