The 900+ positions of the Facilities Division service the students and staff of the University's teaching, research/administrative space and 2, 240 acres of infrastructure. The Facilities Division provides design and building services, maintenance, custodial, landscape, solid waste removal, utility, mail, and motor pool services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The goal is to deliver cost effective services to the University, ensure completed projects and maintenance that conform to codes and regulations, while minimizing University liabilities and disruptions caused by the maintenance, repair, building, and equipment modifications to the University. Essential Job Duties Responsible for After hours, Events, Floor Care oversite in Region 4. AFTER HOURS: Assist in all emergency occurrences in collaboration with Region 4 & 1 policing and emergency calls for all assigned buildings. Full knowledge of all equipment and protocol needed during such events This will consist of 3 Full-time employees in Region 4 and 1 in Region 1 for hours after the 12:30 pm shift leaves. EVENT COORDINATOR: Collaborate with all liaisons and managers to ensure that all set ups and events are covered in Region 4 (FI, McKimmon, Park Alumni, Joyner). This will include set ups, take downs, coordination of weekend staff needed, and added staff where needed. It requires supervisor to maintain an up to date organized schedule and communication with customer's employees, managers and DAD for billing purposes. Google Doc should be prepared for Region 4. FLOOR TECHS: Ensure that all floor care work is adequately documented on the google doc on a regular basis. Be the center point for any floor project that are done jointly between Region 4 zones and techs (prep, supplies, dates, times, communication to customers) or require contractor coordination MANAGEMENT Succession: Required to complete all management training available and serve as a "manager in training" for the Region This Supervisor is responsible for working with the Zone Managers on staffing, scheduling, planning daily work activities and ensuring procedures are being followed. Report to the Zone Managers on what is needed, report and/or repair defective equipment, transport employees to and from buildings, train new employees in the buildings, the use of equipment and their scope of work, maintaining carpet and hard surface floors (stripping, waxing, scrubbing, and buffing floors) to include paperwork. Coordinate emergency response throughout region for spills, water remediation and trash removal. Serve as the backup for the After Hours Supervisor other Regions. Other Responsibilities This is a critical role position and is essential to the operations of the University. The position may be required to work during adverse weather conditions and work even if the University closes. May aid in snow removal as directed by supervisors. This position will be required to work in conjunction with several zone managers. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Experience/Education High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require Certification or eligibility for Certification. Other Required Qualifications Requires working knowledge and experience with all types of equipment to include, but not limited to: auto scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors, dry scrub machines and wet/dry vacuums, dehumidifiers, Kaivacs, blowers, pressure washers and vacuums Requires working knowledge and experience in the use of and application of floor finish stripper and floor finish maintainers Requires good experience with Microsoft Word and Excel Requires experience in overseeing an emergency operations and projects team Requires experience in assigning projects that require multiple teams to complete in a timely and effective manner Requires the ability to deal with emergency situations that could affect the building structures Requires the ability to act in a fast and concise manner Requires ability to effectively comprehend and communicate directions to the staff Requires ability to follow spreadsheet inventory and key log forms and accurately complete or revise if needed Requires ability to collaborate with team members Requires experience in working with spreadsheets for the purpose of tracking spaces completed and the ordering of supplies Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds frequently and up to 90 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations Requires ability to learn Google Docs, AiM and WolfTime Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an institutional or commercial cleaning environment Supervisory experience Required License or Certification Valid DL required.
