This is a Grand-Funded position WIC Site Supervisor Position Overview: The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Site Supervisor is responsible for the operations of the assigned WIC site and is familiar with resources in the surrounding community. The Site Supervisor is responsible for managing all site operations and meeting performance metrics in accordance with State requirements. The Site Supervisor will also perform personnel and facility management duties, determine WIC applicants' program eligibility, provide nutrition education to individuals and groups, and coordinate with other programs to enhance client services. Duties & Responsibilities: Performs management duties by monitoring clinic staff and handling disciplinary actions, assessing facility requirements and establishing work schedules and tasks. Conducts staff orientation, training, meetings, performance appraisals, and reviews. Monitors client flow, conducts quality assurance, reviews reports, and ensures successful clinic operations by meeting specific metrics. Promotes positive customer service and resolves client complaints promptly. Maintains knowledge of Harris County Public Health (HCPH) and Texas WIC Policies and Procedures by providing income and program eligibility determination and formula and breast pump issuance. Provides nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education in individual and group settings. Completes blood iron level check and anthropometric measurements and reviews growth charts. Conducts community outreach and provides appropriate referrals to clients needing services not provided by WIC. Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Nutrition Sciences with 24-Semester Hours of Food & Nutrition Experience One (1) year of professional work experience in a direct supervisory capacity. Preferences Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish Experience: One (1) year of experience as a Certifying Authority in a WIC Program General Information Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work: Full-Time Grant-funded Monday - Friday 8 am - 5:30 pm and one Saturday per month. Must be willing to flex work hours when required, including weekends. Able to travel within Harris County as needed. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands: This is an active role with a high level of movement throughout the facility; Some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. This job requires bending and standing for long periods of time.
