Terms of Employment

  • W2 Contract, 17 Months (Possible Extension)
  • This position is headquartered at the National Parks Service building in downtown Philadelphia. The site work will be performed at various buildings in downtown Philadelphia all in walking distance to Independence Hall.
  • This individual should be comfortable working Monday Friday with a start time of 7AM (at the latest) and should be comfortable working eight-to-ten-hour shifts.

Overview
Our client is looking for a Site Superintendent to facilitate daily direction and supervision of the subcontractors on a high visibility project with at (and around) Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA. The Site Superintendent will support electrical and mechanical retrofitting work, to include HVAC, Boilers, and underground excavation to install gas linnes. This project needs to meet all federal guidelines, so the environment is intense, fast-paced, and regulated. On a week-to-week basis, the Site Superintendent will be responsible for the following:

  • Meet with Senior Project Managers to understand daily construction schedules.
  • Support the field activities to include site safety inspections, material inspections, and monitoring construction progress.
  • Coordinate with the subcontractors and the onsite facility workers and manage the overlap and separation of the two.
  • Generate daily reports, weekly reports, safety reports, and updates to the current Excel spreadsheets, depending on scope of work.
  • Answer and report to the onsite Project Manager, under their direction.

Required Skills & Experience

  • High School diploma and 5+ years of experience directing craft labor on industrial mechanical and electrical construction projects at a commercial level (not residential) as a Superintendent.
  • Possesses a minimum of an OSHA-30 certification with strong experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance.
  • Ability to handle high visibility clients and effectively communicate with varying personalities.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong reporting skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be comfortable working in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Project.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience working within Procure to support project management.
