A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SITE SUPERINTENDENT

As a Site Superintendent, you are vital to our work installing MDOT traffic signals. Under your supervision, the work moves smoothly and we better our performance every time. Each day, you arrive at the job site eager to complete the installation in a safe and efficient manner. You are confident in the plan and schedule you've made and do your utmost to stick to them. Before and throughout the job, you coordinate with customers, inspectors, utility companies, and subcontractors to make sure that everyone is on the same page. As the work proceeds, you use your expertise in traffic signal installation to guide your efforts. You also encourage open and fluid communication so that any errors are corrected right away. At the end of the day, you step back and examine the completed installation. It's clear that the traffic flows better and the community is safer because of your efforts. You are proud that you and your crew have made a difference.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as a site superintendent
  • Experience working with traffic signals
  • Experience with Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) standards and practices

Electrical experience would be a benefit but is not required. Do you have the ability to keep communication flowing on a job site? Are you a problem-solver? Can you lead and inspire others to do their best? If yes, you might just be perfect for this electrical construction position.
