We are currently seeking a Simulation Systems Engineer for our Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren. Systems Engineer Duties and Responsibilities: Provide engineering and technical support and advisement regarding problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements Develop, prepare, and present VV&A documentation according to MIL-STD-3022 format Establish and participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to develop VV&A strategies, test objectives, and schedules. Chair recurring VV&A coordination meetings Evaluate requirements, development artifacts, test artifacts, and software products to ensure simulations meet accreditation criteria Provide assessments and recommendations on system development, process improvements, and strategic decisions Prepare technical presentations, briefings, engineering assessments, and papers to address accreditation efforts in such venues as technical design reviews, technical review boards, and others Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for identified cost, schedule, and technical issues Interacting and working with a wide range of people from management to customers Requirements Required Systems Engineer Skills and Qualifications: 6+ years of experience supporting DoD engineering activities required Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 2 years of professional experience supporting DoD engineering activities or 6 years of professional experience supporting DoD engineering activities Experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) for DoD systems (M&S development, M&S use, M&S V&V) Experience with DoD Systems Engineering principles (requirements, traceability, risk management) Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD clearance is required US Citizenship is required Desired Systems Engineer Skills and Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of Naval Surface Warfare programs and architectures is preferred Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability and willingness to multi-task, and capable of professionally addressing client questions and issues Experience supporting Navy or DoD programs - Modeling and simulation experience preferred Experience supporting or leading M&S Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) activities Experience developing and maintaining schedules with Microsoft Project. Experience with Agile processes and Jira/Confluence tools Experience with U.S. Navy surface combat or navigation systems Experience with surface combat system simulations (NGS, CS3, etc) Must be able to lift/carry up to 10 pounds during daily activity This role routinely uses standard office equipment Apply For This Position
