FUNCTION:
Loads and unloads trucks using a tow-motor or overhead crane and moves material within the facility ensuring damage
free movement of in-process and outbound materials.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
- Parts are constantly handled and protected properly and safely.
- Records are well kept.
- Parts are packaged and shipped to specifications and standard shop practices.
- Wasted effort is constantly sought and eliminated.
- Constantly seeks additional work to ensure that a high level of productivity is achieved.
- Work problems are proactively solved as to prevent production disruption.
- Duties are constantly performed in a safe manner to ensure compliance with safety specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Incoming material discrepancies are documented and reported in a timely manner.
- Constantly monitors product quality by ensuring the safe and careful movement and storage of materials.
- May be required to drive the company truck to deliver or pick up materials.
- Maintains an inventory of packaging materials.
- Using a circular saw and pneumatic tools, builds crates and skids to ensure damage free movement of materials.
- Packages and protects all outbound material.
- Identifies shipping damage.
- Compare material certs to actual.
- Maintain books of general specifications to GTC quality procedures.
- Record in computer all required purchasing records.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be a US citizen.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/SKILL
- Minimum of two years of progressive experience in shipping and receiving.
- Above average PC skills and the ability to master an ERP system.
- Minimum of two years of experience driving a forklift and the ability to safely move large and expensive parts.
