BUSINESS UNIT: ATLAS

Atlas is a business unit in the Measurement, Communications and Technologies division of AMETEK. We are a leader in materials durability testing, offering a complete line of weathering testing instrumentation, laboratory, and outdoor testing services. Position Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares and packs items for shipment. Load and unload shipments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately receiving materials from suppliers and shipping materials to customers in compliance with all regulations and international trade guidelines.
  • Receive materials and visually inspect for damage
  • Unpack materials, verify count and enter into Exact system
  • Warehouse materials in proper location for use in production or to fulfill customer orders
  • Pull materials per sales orders, pack, and ship to customers
  • Separate returned materials from customers and place in the correct location for processing through the Return Material Authorization process.
  • Perform cycle counts as required
  • Rearrange/organize materials to minimize floor space requirements and walk time
  • Actively participate in lean projects related to material management

Requirements for Consideration:

  • Ability to operate computer and software, including basic knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Exact ERP
  • Familiarity with material handling equipment and ability to drive a fork lift, pallet jack, and other equipment as necessary
  • Extensive time walking/standing and some heavy lifting required
  • High School diploma
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal
  • Must possess basic math skills
  • Able to define basic problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
