PGS Worldwide is actively seeking skilled Sheet Metal/Low Observable Coater Technicians to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in HI. This is an initial 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.

Job Description:

  • Technician will perform time critical low observable (LO) maintenance to include coatings removal and restoration to aircraft and panels and structural repairs on metallic and composite components.
  • Accomplish TCTO modifications.
  • Fabricate detail parts such as shims and patches.
  • Use shop aids to facilitate fabrication, assembly and installation as required.
  • A/C mapping using scales and applying standard measuring systems.
  • Bonding of aircraft parts, assemblies and materials to specific location maintaining close tolerances, utilizing vacuum pressure, tapes and shop aids.
  • Work daily with engineering drawings, process specifications, Aircraft Reports (ARs), and FSEs as needed to perform assigned tasks.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
  • Will obtain/deliver any required/directed on-the-job training as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must acquire an Interim Secret clearance prior to start.
  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of F-22 or F-35 Fighter Aircraft experience in Low Observable coatings.
  • Experience using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including respirators, gloves, and coveralls.
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift schedule.

Desired:

  • Low Observable coatings application experience.
  • Experience with applying spray coatings to required mil thickness to aircraft and parts using HVLP spray equipment.
  • Experience and knowledge of Integrated Maintenance Information Systems (IMIS).
  • Working knowledge of such programs as Hazardous Waste Management, Safety, Training, FOD, Security, Supply Chain Management, and Time Accounting.
