Sewer Maintenance Worker I

All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.

Job Description:

The Sewer Maintenance Worker I assist higher level workers in the cleaning of Storm and Sanitary Sewers. It consists of the maintenance, operation, repair work, operating cleaning equipment, and assisting with CCTV equipment as directed. Work is done under the direction of a supervisor, manager, Sewer Maintenance Worker II, and Sewer Maintenance Worker III. This classification is a DOT regulated position.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED, 6 months or more of relevant experience (preferred). Any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. CDL permit within 3 months; CDL Class B license with tanker & air brakes endorsements within 6 months.

Class I KWEA collections certification within 3 years of hire date.

Salary Range:

$20.65/hr.
