Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Specialty Integration Engineer for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division Engineering and Manufacturing team. This role will be in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and will provide enabling support for all business areas within the SDS portfolio. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. What You'll Get To Do: The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, verification & validation, Compliance tracking & Analysis, and requirements traceability. Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following: Align Specialty Engineering to the GBSD technical planning, system integration, requirements verification, modeling and validation efforts. Build relationships, effectively listens, communicates to influence, and ensures accountability across a network of stakeholders. Collaborate with program Integrated Product Teams (IPT's), technical teams and stakeholders, to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts. Acts with a sense of urgency and accountability; takes ownership of tasks and strategic direction. Support development and implementation of processes, ensuring adequate flow-down supports program directorate. Navigates ambiguity and develops a systemic approach and strategy to address and solve problems. Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis. Develop unifying techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration). Additional Responsibilities include: Detailed and team-oriented, able to multi-task with demonstrated leadership and organization skills. Ability to help solve problems or conflicts within teams. Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Prepare and present technical reports and briefings. Coordinate and schedule activities with key stakeholders. Self-starters compelled to take action in the workplace without requiring prompting from supervisors. Participate in a variety of working groups and customer meetings; ensure communication of progress, major milestones, and potential blockers with stakeholders. Contributes to the ongoing enhancement of assessment capabilities through the development and implementation of improved methodology, processes, infrastructure, tools, and deliverables. Job Qualifications You'll Bring These Qualifications: Principal Engineer Systems: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 0 years of experience with PhD. Sr. Principal Engineer Systems: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of experience, 7 years of experience with Master's degree, 4 years of experience with PhD. Required for Both Levels: A minimum of 2 years of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool for level 3, and a minimum of 3 years (DOORS experience) for level 4 Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs Experience performing tasks dealing with requirement decomposition, compliance tracking, verification planning and verification execution. These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: Active DoD Top Secret Clearance 1 year of engineering experience in at least one of the following disciplines, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects, Nuclear Hardness, Systems Safety, Human Systems Integration, or Parts Materials & Processes Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Principals Experience in the military aerospace development environment Experience with weapon systems Experience with Agile Development Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment engineering and integration Experience with complex system development on large programs Skill in producing finished reports and assessments; conducting original research; analyzing information; and presenting clear and concise findings. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills Salary Range: $95,600 - $139,000
Salary Range 2: $114,900 - $172,300 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
