Who we are looking for
State Street Associates technology (US) team is looking to hire a senior web developer to work on the State Street Insights platform and drive the next generation of web application. We seek self-driven seasoned professionals with a strong, versatile background in web & mobile application development, a deep knowledge of modern web standards and techniques, and a desire for solving problems elegantly.

Due to the role requirements this job needs to be performed primarily in the office (Cambridge MA) with some flex work opportunities available.

What you will be responsible for
As senior web developer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the frontend development of the State Street Insights platform, your key responsibilities include
  • Build wireframes to visualize UED ideas, and implement POC, prototypes or alike.
  • Design, develop, debug and deliver robust web solutions with high maintainability and extensibility
  • Solve complex problems using a variety of web techniques
  • Lead the frontend development efforts of our projects, primarily using Angular and other frontend technologies such as Vue.js, Highcharts, Ant Design, Tailwind CSS, Semantic UI, etc.
  • Architect scalable and maintainable frontend solutions that meet project requirements and business objectives
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical expertise and fostering a culture of learning and innovation
  • Collaborate closely with designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of frontend and backend components
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in web development, and champion the adoption of new technologies and methodologies within the team

  • Authoritative knowledge & hands-on experience of
  • Web languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Web frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue.js, Bootstrap, LESS, Semantic UI, Tailwind CSS, etc.
  • Web tools like Git, NPM, Webpack, Yarn, Grunt, etc.
  • Web libraries including jQuery, underscore.js, Lodash, etc.
  • Server-side web techniques like Node.js, Express, KOA, etc.
  • Data visualization or charting libraries like Highcharts, D3, ECharts, etc.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience leading development teams or projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to architect complex frontend solutions
  • Experience with native mobile development for iOS and Android is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to writing clean, efficient code
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in web development

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Master's degree is a plus
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in web development with a focus in frontend technology

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $185,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
