Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a Senior Water Engineer to join our Resilience Water Team in Southern California.

The Senior Water Engineer will lead and manage regional project delivery and pursuits within the municipal water / wastewater market. This role offers significant growth opportunities for advancement as you manage delivery teams and build strong client relationships.

Role accountabilities:

You will be a Project Manager for municipal water and wastewater projects and/or participate in client development activities, assist with position and capture strategies, proposal and presentation efforts. In addition, you will work with the Area Leader(s) and client Account Leader(s) on developing project scopes and fee estimates, setting the best stage for profitable delivery, managing risk, identifying project staff, and related activities.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Lead projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of water/wastewater treatment plants, stormwater systems, distribution/collection systems, and pump/lift stations as well as creating construction documents, specifications and overseeing design support services during construction.
  • Manage a range of projects for various clients in the region. Responsibilities will include managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, and leading project teams to meet the project deliverables.
  • Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions.
  • Leading and coordinating multi-disciplined engineering teams.
  • Responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Support the work of others and mentor junior level engineer & design/drafting technical staff.
  • Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards.
  • Some travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
  • 10 years of progressively responsible leadership in the Water and Wastewater field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Current PE License in California, or ability to obtain PE in California in 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current PE License in CA.
  • Masters degree in Engineering.
  • Experience working on design projects with construction contractors utilizing alternative project delivery methods.
  • Functional experience with MS Office applications including Microsoft Project.
  • Flexible to work with different project teams present locally and across remote offices.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $112,240 - $180,000/year.
