Senior Test Engineer with Security Clearance

Responsibilities PeopleTec is currently seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location. We are currently seeking one or more highly skilled Senior Test Engineers/SMEs with expertise in aerospace testing or flight testing to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in flight test operations and possess in-depth knowledge of aeronautics or aerospace engineering principles. Candidates with experience in thermal protection, rocket motor testing, or hypersonics are highly desired. Duties: Lead and contribute to the planning, execution, and analysis of flight test programs for aerospace systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Utilize expertise in aeronautics or aerospace engineering to provide technical guidance and support for flight test activities, including test planning, instrumentation selection, and data analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test objectives, develop test plans, and integrate flight test activities into overall project timelines and milestones. Conduct hands-on flight testing of aerospace components and systems, including rockets, spacecraft, or other aerial platforms. Analyze flight test data to assess performance, identify anomalies, and recommend design improvements or corrective actions as needed. Serve as a subject matter expert on flight testing methodologies, procedures, and best practices, providing mentorship and training to junior engineers and technicians. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in aerospace testing and incorporate relevant advancements into flight test programs. Qualifications Required Skills/Experience : Demonstrated flight test experience, with a proven track record of planning, executing, and analyzing flight tests for aerospace systems. Strong background in aeronautics or aerospace engineering, with a deep understanding of aerodynamics, propulsion, and flight dynamics principles. Proficiency in flight test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and telemetry systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues encountered during flight testing. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders. Travel: up to 25% Must be a U.S. Citizen An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment. Education Requirements : Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Science with 15 years of experience. Prefer a Masters's degree but not required. Desired Skills : Experience with thermal protection systems and testing methodologies for aerospace vehicles operating in high-temperature environments. Knowledge of rocket motor testing techniques, including static firing tests and performance evaluations. Familiarity with hypersonic flight testing concepts and challenges, including aerothermal effects and vehicle stability. Prior experience working as a Flight Test Subject Matter Expert (SME) or leading flight test teams on aerospace projects. Estimated time to Hire: July, 2024 Overview People First. Technology Always.
