We are seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join an internal tax team team. This full-time, permanent position will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to work on complex tax issues in an exciting and challenging environment. The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for providing tax expertise to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, preparing tax returns, and assisting with tax planning.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and review federal, state and local income tax returns, estimates, and extensions.
2. Assist with ASC 740 tax provision calculations, documentation, and disclosures, including the determination of valuation allowances, unrecognized tax benefits, and effective tax rate reconciliation.
3. Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide tax planning recommendations.
4. Assist with tax audits by preparing responses and supporting documentation for inquiries from tax authorities.
5. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide required information and ensure proper audit procedures are followed.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax practices and changes in tax law.
7. Assist with special projects as assigned, including mergers and acquisitions, tax incentive studies, and tax planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a CPA certification is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience, preferably in the finance industry or a public accounting firm.
3. Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and experience with tax provision preparation is required.
4. Excellent research skills with a thorough understanding of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations.
5. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
