The annual salary range for this position is $120,000-$165,000 based on what we are asking you to do, your qualifications, and relevant years of experience. We do allow teleworking with prior approval, but supporting the DoD, you will be required to work at a military site approximately 5 days a week. Still not convinced? Allow us to elaborate. For this opportunity, we are a seeking highly motived, team-oriented,andexperiencedSystems Engineer (senior level) to join our team. You will be a part of a team of experienced systems engineers supporting and leading various initiatives for the United States Navy. This role requires someone who is good at multitasking and able to support two or more projects at once. You will be responsible for helping translate customer needs into use cases and requirements. You will work with the customer(s) and help them track their cyber requirements using an engineering model. You will also work with the customer(s) to help them identify functional and interface requirements using an engineering model. You will be responsible for generating artifacts from the engineering model and brief the customer with status updates, as required. You will automate engineering development within the Naval Undersea Division. The work currently encompasses using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to modernize capabilities for the Navy's Undersea Systems. We're looking for engineering experts to lead our teams as we take on tough problems and build complex, highly sophisticated systems. Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, computer science, or related plus eight (8) years or more of industry experience (DoD military systems, C4I, Surface-, Undersea-, Air-, and Mine-warfare on military programs, etc.). Our desired candidate will be skilled in operational analysis and use case definition, plus requirements management and analysis. What does this mean to you? We're looking for MBSE experts with a penchant for automation to help us to continue to set the industry standard for how MBSE is utilized to accelerate development. We seek forward leaning technologists who strive not only to get the most out of Cameo System Modeler, Kubernetes, Jira, Monte Carlo Simulation tools, MatLab, DOORs, Cassandra, Github, and a host of other leading-edge engineering and development tools but also integrate them together for streamlined and secure development. We're looking for leaders to take on tough problems and build complex, highly sophisticated systems. Required Skills: 8 + years of general systems engineering Specific experience applying model-based systems and digital engineering procedures, processes, and methodologies/techniques Experience with UML/SysML modeling languages and/or DoDAF/UAF frameworks Experience with aspects of systems engineering such as requirements elicitation, analysis, derivation and traceability, functional analysis and allocation, WBS, trade studies, modeling and simulation, metrics, risk management, integration and test, verification and validation Excellent written and verbal communication, along with effective time and project management skills Desired Skills: Experience with DoDAF requirements to support interoperability certification, testing, and RAFT analysis Experience with Agile management/collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.) Experience with various model-based system-engineering tools - Cameo System Modeler, Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, etc. Knowledge of Information Technology (IT), computer system infrastructure, data communication and network system, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, and routing protocols OMG-Certified SysML Professional (OCSMP) certification (Model User, Model Builder Fundamental, Model Builder Intermediate, Model Builder Advanced) Security+ certification To be successful in this role, you should be able to communicate clearly with stakeholders and engineering leadership teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined and Customer expectations are being met. The ability to analyze new and complex program-related problems and create innovative solutions that integrate schedule, technology, methodology, tools, and financial aspects are critical components to this position. Duties Include: Participate in system requirements collection and reviews, as well as maintain requirements documentation over the life of the program Identify potential system interface requirements Review system engineering documentation to validate specifications are accurate and meet system needs Produce and maintain system engineering models using modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML) Produce artifacts to support customer objectives Participate in project/program technical risk analysis and mitigation Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment Strong written, communication, and prestation skills Lastly, as we are working for the DoD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DoD Secret level clearance. Don't let it stop you from applying if you don't have a clearance.
