What You Will Do

Oversees and provides guidance to field personnel for the execution and maintenance of the corrosion control program to ensure compliance with regulations and company procedures.

Oversee each reporting location's corrosion control activities including cathodic protection design, record keeping, and corrosion control maintenance.

Develop and implement corrosion control programs. Troubleshoot and correct complex cathodic protection deficiencies, and stray current interference problems.

Provide advanced technical guidance in developing corrosion and pipeline integrity project planning and budgeting.

Lead efforts in planning, material requisitions, contractor selection, documentation, and management of new projects and work orders.

Provide overall field project management of pipeline integrity projects, including: smart pig runs, assessment digs, pipe re-coating, corrosion surveys, and groundbed rectifier systems.

Ensure installations and pipeline integrity projects comply with Pipeline Safety Regulations, NACE Standards, and Company procedures and standards.

Develop and revise company operating procedures and engineering standards in area of expertise.

Provide corrosion control training to operation supervisors and field personnel, including mentoring and verifying the qualifications of personnel to perform OQ covered tasks.

Conduct facility inspections, reviews records and reports findings to appropriate management and departments.

Ensure that corrosion and pipeline integrity records are kept and maintained according to DOT requirements, Company standards, and department guidelines.

Prepare and oversee the preparation of special reports that document and make recommendations regarding the results of pipeline integrity assessment activities, special projects, or surveys.

Interact with software developers to enhance the corrosion control data management programs.

Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

What You Will Need

Preferred Engineering Bachelor's Degree, other related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and job related experience

Experience with and thorough knowledge of gas pipeline construction and maintenance, and corrosion control.

Experience performing corrosion control functions and planning and designing cathodic protection systems.

Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills. Apply math and algebraic formulas.

Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position such as MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access databases and RSTRENG.

Experience and training related to:

• Evaluation and recommendation of corrosion control materials, equipment and procedures

• Resolve system deficiencies

• Applicable company and governmental standards and regulations

• Interpersonal/communications skills

• Reading and interpreting pipeline safety regulations, company operating procedures, engineering standards constructions standards, corrosion engineering publications, accounting manuals and company procedures.

• Analyzing, compiling, and preparing various corrosion reports, analyses of company standards and practices, training materials, test results and findings, etc.

Knowledge and understanding of mainline/lateral/gathering/trunkline pipeline operations, compressor stations and associated equipment.

Experience interacting, advising, and communicate effectively.

Conduct corrosion control training on cathodic protections design, record keeping and corrosion control maintenance.

Read and write fluently in English.

First level National Association of Corrosion Engineer (NACE) Certification.

Advanced Corrosion Technician Certificate of Proficiency

Applicable driver's license for travel between office locations and to job sites within area.

CDL eligible: must obtain CDL within 6 months.

Mobility to travel in and around office facilities system wide.

Operate tools and equipment required.

Communicate and exchange information or instructions.

Visual abilities to perform job duties.
