Summary At AGI, the 3D Graphics team is at the intersection of Computer Science and Aerospace. Our mission is to bring highly accurate and visually stunning graphics, with precise resolution at the surface of the earth and all the way across the solar system. For this Senior R&D Engineer role, we are looking for candidates who have an appetite for building and using rendering architectures, researching and implementing proven visualization techniques, and are familiar with modern C and OpenGL. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Key Duties and Responsibilities Participates in planning, architecture, and research.
Performs complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including software design, optimization, and implementation of numerical and visualization algorithms.
Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring.
Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.
Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reports Follow and promote best practices in commercial software development
Contribute to the culture of an amazing company Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years' experience, MS with 3 years' experience, or PhD with 1 year experience.
Commercial experience with software design and development methodologies Strong knowledge and experience with Graphics APIs, such as OpenGL, Vulkan, DirectX, or Metal.
Strong knowledge and experience with C .
Good communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications and Skills Passion for crafting robust and efficient code Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate well with others on a fast-paced team, including PhD-level subject matter experts
Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team
