Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Server Engineer with specialized expertise in maintaining Microsoft Exchange environment and Proofpoint solutions. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in server management, cybersecurity, and email protection systems. This role will involve managing and optimizing our server infrastructure while leveraging Proofpoint technologies to enhance our email security posture.
This is a Hybrid position that will be on-site 1 day/week and as needed.
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Required Skills & Experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in server engineering or a similar role.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Proofpoint administration and management.
- Relevant certifications such as Proofpoint Certified Security Professional, MCSE, CISSP, M365, Azure Solutions Architect or similar are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and mentor junior team members.
What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown
- Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
- Strong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with email systems and security protocols (SMTP, DMARC, DKIM, SPF).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Familiarity with other email security solutions and cybersecurity frameworks.
Daily Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Conduct routine system monitoring, maintenance, and backup operations to ensure optimal server performance.
- Manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange servers, ensuring email system integrity, security, and availability
- Administer and manage Proofpoint solutions, including Email Protection, Targeted Attack Protection, and other related modules.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Proofpoint systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and other maintenance activities for Proofpoint systems.
- Implement and manage email security policies and protocols to protect against phishing, malware, and other email-borne threats.
- Analyze email security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure robust security measures and compliance with industry standards.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide advanced technical support for server and Proofpoint-related issues.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and IT support staff.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of server and Proofpoint configurations, procedures, and processes.
- Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities.
