As the first bioinformatician you will work onsite at the CSL Waltham site. You will lead all the bioinformatics activities supporting the development of self-amplifying mRNA (sa-mRNA) platform technology and next-generation process. You will also work with with Flu Cell Culture (FCC) development subject matter experts and in doing so, contributing to the advancement of FCC programs.

Our benefits include an Onsite gym, cafeteria, barista coffee bar, free onsite parking and bike storage, access to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K with a 6% match and an annual bonus; and accrued PTO, wellness days and floating holidays. This role can be flexible with 1-2 days WFH

Main Responsibilities

  • Build end-to-end bioinformatics pipelines for automated NGS data analysis and support sa-mRNA structure and stability assay development.
  • Perform statistical analysis on different types of NGS datasets and extract sa-mRNA structural and stability information at nucleotide-resolution.
  • Delivering bioinformatic and machine learning solutions to generate models for sa-mRNA sequence-to-function and sequence-to-process fitness prediction and contribute to the iterative design-testing cycle of sa-mRNA sequence optimization.
  • Collaborate with bioinformaticians and data scientists with expertise in various -omics, imaging, and high throughput screening technologies in the global CSL network, to build bioinformatic platform and advance computational genomics research at CSL Waltham.
  • Work closely with a fast-growing team of biochemists, molecular biologists, cell biologists, virologists, and chemical engineers to deliver product strategies, data science plans and project goals focused on mRNA sequence design and viral stock screening, with the possibility of supporting cell therapy and gene therapy product development.
  • Collaborating with peer functions to establish and manage an integrative outsourcing strategy to work with external genomic and bioinformatic commercial partners.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the fields of RNA therapeutics and bioinformatics, integrate new techniques where appropriate.

Qualifications:
