Senior Scientist

Title:
Senior Scientist - Optics and Lasers KBR is seeking a Senior Scientist - Optics and Lasers to join our team. Our customer maintains an ongoing research and development (R&D) effort focused on exploring and innovating technologies that advance state-of-the-art ground-based, electro-optical space situational awareness, optical imaging, advanced space tracking, and space object characterization capabilities. This contract will fulfill our client's commitments to operational customers and to develop improved, innovative, and enhanced capabilities that advance the state-of-the-art and better meet the near-term needs of these customers. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 15 years of experience in imaging system design, operation, maintenance and control of adaptive optics and wavefront sensing systems, and operation and maintenance of fiber/solid state lasers
Demonstrated experience in design, assembly, troubleshooting and maintenance of optical and laser systems
Broad background in physical sciences
Familiarity with the USAF and US Space Force space control/space domain awareness mission area
Master's degree in electrical optics or related field Preferred Qualifications: PhD in electrical optics or related field Security Clearance Requirements: Must currently hold an active TS with SCI eligibility KBR is an equal opportunity employer.
