Job Title Senior Research Associate Agency Tarleton State University Department Texas Institute for Applied Environmental Research Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Stephenville, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Manages major research projects, developing proposals, defining scope of work, and providing day to day project supervision.; Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate Responsibilities:-55% Performs modification and application of environmental and economic models-20% Prepares reports, papers and publications for funding sources. Prepares and presents research results and publications at meetings and scientific conferences.-10% Performs statistical analysis of field and modeling data-10% Assists with preparation of proposals, budgets and work plans.-5% Performs other duties as assigned including assistance with field work as needed. Education and Experience:-Masters degree-2 years of directly related research experience (Doctoral degree in a related field may be substituted for required years of research experience) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment.-Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others. Other Requirements:Experience applying surface water quality models and watershed models is preferred. Educational degrees in environmental sciences, water resources, or environmental engineering is preferred. The target base annual salary is $39,120 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
