JOB SUMMARY: The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned engineering projects. Works with management, engineers and other organizations to monitor project compliance with applicable codes, practices, polices, project performance standards and specifications. Interact daily with internal/external clients to interpret needs, requirements and represent the company in project meetings. This position is also responsible for technology documentation, corrective action and minor capital projects initiated by the department. Upon completion of project work, this position will also work in support of process technology, the technology transfer of processes from R&D to the plant, process reliability and repeatability, product yield and quality, equipment design, process safety, process control and documentation.
DUTIES:
Capital project management to include coordination of all phases of capital projects from business justification to start-up including scope development, evaluation and selection of technical alternatives, construction management and start-up.
Report key project performance parameters
Coordinate and direct contractors and vendors during project execution
Participates in PHA's and HAZOP studies.
Integrate new technologies into the plant manufacturing processes.
Apply engineering expertise, analyze data for trends, and identify process & operational improvements.
Preparing deliverables including: P&IDs, material balances, flow sheets and design calculations
Responsible for following all of the ISO/RC procedures in regard to PSM, Process Control and Documentation.
Coordinating chemical technology transfer from the R&D labs to manufacturing
Investigate and plan corrective actions along with applying statistical techniques in order to improve, track, investigate quality problems.
Apply root cause analysis techniques and creative alternatives to technical related problems
Maintaining effective communications and working relationships with operators, maintenance, engineering, contractor, administrative support, and R&D personnel
Provide knowledge of engineering concepts to include thermodynamics, heat transfer, etc.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrated ability to function as a Senior Process Engineer upon completion of various engineering projects. Attend meetings as required.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports to the Engineering Manager. This position does not supervise other employees.
BUDGET MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for the following budget: Oversight of specific project budget elements. Budget Range: $50,001-$1,000,000
